Founder & first president, Anne Arundel County, MD Insurance Women's Organization, made it part of NAIW; member of American Businesswomen's Association.

Owner & manager of marinas for 25 years;

Trade association founder & first elected woman president;

Appointed by government officials to several public committees & commissions.

Founder & first president of Citizens for a Better Sussex - CBS;

Testified at major hearings on land use, zoning, energy & the environment with a successful track record.

For CBS, effectively lobbied the state legislature for fairer representation of Eastern Sussex Countians on the County Council; as a result two bills passed the House.

Gave seminars on energy conservation & clean energy including a possible offshore wind farm off Sussex shores. As a volunteer I lobbied the Delaware Legislature for the Bluewater Wind Farm a project that would have provided 500 new high-paying jobs.

Co-founder of the Plantation Road Coalition & the No Build Coalition to protect Midway area farms, homes and minority communities from unwise transportation decisions.

Graduate of Trinity University in Washington, DC with a degree in International Studies/Business Tract & a Minor in Spanish.

Married to Bill Deaver; 5 children & 5 grandchildren.
